Shawn Sheehy is an associate at the law firm of Holtzman Vogel Josefiak Torchinsky. Shawn’s practice focuses on First Amendment litigation, redistricting litigation, and litigation involving the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. For example, Shawn has assisted in successfully challenging New York’s statutes limiting contributions to independent expenditure committees; successfully defending political committees in discovery disputes in redistricting litigation; and in another redistricting case, Shawn authored a brief that was submitted to the U.S. Supreme Court. In 2014, Shawn graduated from the National Trial Advocacy College at the University of Virginia School of Law.
Shawn’s litigation experience extends to assisting campaigns in responding to FEC Complaints and complaints from various state regulators. Shawn also advises clients on FEC and state regulations concerning radio, television, and telephone advertisements, as well as reporting obligations. Shawn also advises nonprofit groups concerning their IRS and state charities compliance obligations.
Shawn is a native Washingtonian. He currently resides in Ashburn, Virginia with his beautiful wife Maria, who is a licensed attorney in Mexico.
Shawn is a resident in the Virginia office and a member of the Virginia State Bar.
